The Coral
Beach Hotel and Resort is situated on a sandy beach of the Coral
Bay in Paphos.

It has a majestic entrance with a circled driveway,
richly decorated with colourful flowers and palm trees. As Kim
and I arrived with our heavy suitcases, the doorman quickly rushed
to our rescue and helped us into the air-conditioned entrance
hall.
We checked in and were taken directly to our room.
It took a while to get there: the Coral Beach Hotel is huge…
but it’s well worth the walk. Our room was decorated in
cool shades of blue and yellow and a complimentary bottle of wine
and basket of fruit awaited us. The French door in our room led
directly to the outdoor pool – who could resist such an
invitation?
The pool is
surrounded by welcoming sunbeds, palm trees and flowers. Perhaps
the only tiny problem is that, after the hot day, the pool was
fairly warm…but a solution was close at hand! As its name
suggests, the Coral Beach Hotel is situated right on the beach:
you need only walk a few metres before plunging into the sea.
Yet another option is the indoor pool, situated in a peaceful
wide room with a very relaxing atmosphere.
In
the evening we decided to try out the hotel restaurants. We were
spoilt for choice: the Coral Beach Hotel has 6 different restaurants
on offer. There is a French restaurant called La Rotisserie with
fine dining and a relaxed, sophisticated ambience. Or perhaps
the Armonia Restaurant, which offers a breathtaking view over
the Pleasure Harbour and the sea? This restaurant has been specially
designed to compliment the unique ambience of Coral Beach and
is a must visit if you do stay in the hotel.
Or if you feel like Italian cuisine you can visit
the Ristorante Romazzino. It offers a wide choice of traditional
Italian food and the friendly staff make you feel at home. When
we visited this restaurant we were presented with a complimentary
glass of wine!
The Calypso Restaurant has a very friendly atmosphere
and offers a choice of different courses. If you like seafood
you will love the Limani Fish Taverna. I found that the hotel
actually gets the first choice of fresh fish from the local fishermen
who fish only a few metres away from the hotel. How much fresher
can you get?
And last but
not least there is the Coral Restaurant and Terrace which is a
favourite with the guests for breakfast and snacks.
The
Coral Bay Hotel has countless activities. To name a few : you
can visit the safari in Peninsular, visit the botanical gardens,
play tennis, go scuba diving, horse riding, play golf, dance,
fish, sail, go bird watching, do some wine tasting. There is a
gym and sauna and much more. Family activities include the hotel
craft workshop, where you can paint on glass or do pottery, all
for the price of the materials that you use.
If you have very young children they can take
advantage of the hotel kindergarten. Friendly and fully qualified
staff will make sure your children will have lots of fun while
you relax by the pool or enjoy a massage on the beach.
The Coral
Bay Beach Hotel offers a wide choice of beauty treatments, relaxing
massages from head to toe, slimming programs, anti-aging programs,
hairdressers and much more. Basically you will leave a completely
different and far more relaxed person. Even businessmen will benefit
- the Coral Bay Hotel proves that even a business trip can be
relaxing!
Talking
of business men, the hotel has an entire wing dedicated to executives.
It has wireless internet and separate breakfast and coffee rooms.
Children under 13 are not allowed in this part of the hotel so
you can get on with your work or just enjoy the peace and quiet.
The hotel is also very popular for weddings and
will help you to organise the wedding of your dreams. To be honest
we didn’t want to leave this paradise. In fact, I found
later that a lot of hotel guests return every year. Who can blame
them?
